DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. Increased risk for flash flooding along the Davis, Conner, and Tamarack burn scar areas. * WHERE...Portions of east central California, including the following area, Mono County and western Nevada, including the following areas, Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden Area and Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties. * WHEN...From noon PDT today through 10pm PDT evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flash flooding and debris flows are possible for area burn scars including the Davis, Conner, and Tamarack scars. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Increased monsoon moisture and training storm may produce areas of flash flooding this afternoon. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and
may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud
is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.
Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall,
becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds.
When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
