AREAS AFFECTED: Effingham; Inland Bryan; Inland Chatham
DESCRIPTION: At 827 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Ellabell, and is nearly stationary. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Pooler, Richmond Hill, I-16/I-95 Interchange, Godley Station, Lanier, Port Wentworth, Bloomingdale, Meldrim, Eden and Ellabell. This includes the following highways... I-16 between mile markers 146 and 158. I-95 in Georgia between mile markers 92 and 105.

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and
may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud
is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.
Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall,
becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds.
When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
